SEVEN SISTERS APOSTOLATE

Women's Prayer Ministry

Did you know that we have a women's prayer ministry at Holy Trinity and St. Augustine dedicated to praying for our parish priests?

The Seven Sisters Apostolate is an international ministry with a simple structure where seven women each commit to offer:

1 Holy Hour, 1 day of the week, for 1 priest.

This is a 1 year commitment that begins each June. Currently each of our priests has a completed group, but we are always looking

to welcome more women who might be interested in this apostolate—to pray for retired priests (many are frail/elderly) throughout the

diocese who have served faithfully and are most appreciative of the prayer offered through this wonderful ministry.

Many of the women who are part of The Seven Sisters comment that their offering of this Holy Hour,

for a chosen priest, has blessed them in ways they couldn't imagine.

History

The Seven Sisters Apostolate started in 2010 in Minnesota by Janette Howe.

During a walk one day, it occurred to Janette that the very least she might do in gratitude for her priests'

ever-generous pastoral care would be to offer a Holy Hour once a week for him.

A call to strengthen the Church by ensuring that a Holy Hour is prayed each day of the week for the sole intention of

a specific priest or bishop —a “holy wasting” (cf. Mt. 26:10) or lavishing of prayer for his deeper conformity to Christ.
