ALTAR SERVING
Any boy in the 4th grade or higher, and who has received his first Holy Communion, can be trained to serve at the Altar.

Every Altar Boy must attend a mandatory training session before being placed in the serving rotation.
At these sessions we will review items in the Sacristy and the order for serving, including some changes that have occurred.

Privilege
It is an enormous privilege to be an Altar Boy, for he is close to the Altar at the moment of consecration,
the moment that Jesus becomes present in the Eucharist. The only creatures who are closer are the clergy and the angels.
The Altar Boy has the privilege of being one of the first to receive our Blessed Lord in the Most Blest Sacrament,
and sets the example for the rest of the congregation by showing the proper attitude, movement, gestures, and attire for the Holy Mass.
“You have the enormous privilege of being close to the altar, close to the Lord.” Pope Benedict XVI
